Fuel Operations Management

Effective fuel-buying strategy and well-established line of credit and conditions with Valero Marketing and Supply de México S.A. de C.V. (VMEX).
System to monitor sites contract volumes versus actual volumes in order to ensure DMA volume ratability.
Ability to accurately judge a site’s volume capability, ensuring not to over or under commit.

Brand Management

Clear understanding of allocations market and lifting points (distributor will arrange transportation and take title to, and risk of loss for product at the rack).
Ability to understand costs associated with branding a location to VMEX standards.
A system to ensure each site fully complies with a maintains VMEX Image Standards and Conditions, including performing routine site inspections.
Ability to reinvest back into the sites, keeping the grounds safe, the store clean, and the brand well represented.

Communication

Read and distribute Valero Weekly Updates to necessary personnel.
Maintain an open line of communication with the designated Territory Sales Manager and Contract Administrator, particularly regarding changes at the distributor or site level.
Regularly access Valero Wholesale Portal to stay up to date with invoicing, EFTs, program updates, etc., and encourage dealers to do the same.
Participate in industry conferences, development seminars and expos.

Insurance to cover all obligations to VMEX.

Requirements to Manage a Dealer Network

Follow practices similar to those distributor.
Understand that distributors are completely responsible for the dealer.
Always maintain stations and fuel storage safely and securely.
Support the marketing programs of local dealers.
Review daily/weekly reports and be willing to offer suggestions and identify pitfalls.
Assist dealers with customer, product or equipment issues.
Access the Valero Wholesale portal regularly to stay up to date on financial and management affairs.
Perform routine site inspections at least once a month or as often as necessary.
Participate in industry conferences, development seminars and expos.
Manage credit/debit capably.
Ensure that dealers clearly understand their contracts and they are aware of resources available to them.
